Some days on the road run longer than you planned. Bench seating in the SRT-16 includes a drop-down table leg that folds away when you want the floor space and drops back down for meals, work, and games. Leather upholstery, strip lighting under the overhead cupboards, and a dimmer switch let you set the mood from bright to barely there. A USB socket at the lounge means your phone charges where you're sitting, not across the other side of the caravan. By the time the kettle's on, it's a space you settle into rather than sit in.

Heading out on a road trip doesn’t mean giving up a decent meal. A 174L Thetford compressor fridge holds a week's shopping for two, so you’re not planning the route around the next town with a supermarket. The two-zone induction cooktop draws off the 48V system.. Want a roast on a cold night? The 29L microwave also serves as a 4-in-1 convection oven, microwave, grill and air-fryer, and the three-way tap pours hot, cold, and filtered, so you can fill your drink bottles at the same sink you do your dishes in. Plus, a flush-mount rangehood pulls steam and condensation out before it can settle on the windows. Cook the way you would at home, a thousand kilometres away.

A queen innerspring mattress sits against a full-height bed head in the SRT-16, so you’ll get a restful night’s sleep in a bed that feels just like home. Wireless chargers sit on both sides, so two phones charge overnight without a tangle of cables across the bedside. Black fans above the bedside window bring a gentle breeze on a still night when the air con is more than you need. The ensuite runs a ceramic Dometic cassette toilet and a fibreglass shower behind a frosted glass door, with a hatch overhead to clear the steam before it reaches the bedding. A wall-mounted washing machine means you're running a load at camp instead of giving up a rest day to a laundromat. And when the temperature drops in the high country, the diesel heater warms the whole caravan for a comfortable and snug retreat.

A month on the road asks more of a caravan than a long weekend does. Overhead cupboards run through the SRT-16 caravan, and every shelf has a lip, so plates stay stacked where you left them after a few hundred kilometres of bumpy roads and dirt. Wardrobes with hanging rods keep your clothes crease-free. Outside, the tunnel boot provides ample storage for the chairs, awning mat, and recovery gear, so the caravan’s interior stays flush, inviting, and liveable.
